Founded in 2010 by Jon Thomas Buck, JB’s Clubhouse began as a dueling piano bar in downtown Joplin. From the start, Jon’s vision was to create a space where friends could gather and connect. At the time, alcohol was the substance most associated with social connection, and JB’s quickly became a popular spot for the Joplin community.

In 2017, Jon made the decision to sell JB’s and focus on personal growth. As he quit drinking, he found himself feeling increasingly isolated in a world where social spaces often revolved around alcohol. Seeking answers, he embarked on a journey across America, walking through countless towns and cities in search of places where people could connect without alcohol. Along the way, Jon recognized a gap in the market for inclusive, alcohol-free spaces—and an opportunity to redefine social connection.

In 2022, the chance to revive the JBs brand presented itself at the iconic Kitchen Pass Bypass location. This time, the vision was different. Jon sought to transform the old memories of late-night drinking into something new: a cannabis-friendly venue where connection, community, and movement take center stage.
